My Favorite Posts So Far

I started this blog in May 2012, making right about now the two-year anniversary of this effort. Including this post, I’ve written 366 entries, which I figure totals more than 100,000 words.

To commemorate the anniversary, I looked back on posts past to choose my favorites for each year—something I’ll plan to make an annual anniversary event. To limit the list length, I decided to choose only five per annum. Given that I’ve written about 185 posts each year, picking just five took some effort.

I've listed my favorites below in relatively random order:

Year One

  1. In Defense of the Liberal Arts Degree

  2. On Dads and Daughters

  3. Empathy

  4. Sunny Attitudes in Dark Times

  5. Yahoo! and Working from Home

Year Two

  1. The Abercrombie & Fitch CEO and Branding 101

  2. The Problem with the Pledge of Allegiance

  3. What Politicians Forgot about the 2008 Election

  4. Education and the Job Market

  5. Careers Last a Long Time Today

In curating these lists, I discovered that I liked best the posts that gave me the opportunity to explore through writing—the posts that taught me something. Also, I found a fondness for opinions that may not have gone over well with the masses, but that I felt strongly enough about to post publicly.

We’ll see what I like most from the coming year’s offerings.

Of all the topics I cover on this blog, which do you most enjoy?
